Influenciado por estas bandas, e também pelo metal e hardcore nacionais, nasce o Oponente, banda de hardcore de São Paulo.
O nome Oponente foi escolhido por seu significado: opor-se à dura realidade do mundo atual, aos problemas sociais, culturais, políticos e humanos.
